What is the “Children’s Sermon”?

The Children’s Sermon is a designated portion of Our Sunday Worship experience that is inclusive of all our children in the learning of scriptures and hearing God’s word. This 5-ish minute long segment entails one of our Sunday school teachers leading a group of our children in the telling of bible stories and asking critical questions. We are hopeful in raising up children who can learn to know about Christ and have a meaningful relationship to him by making their faith their own.

Sunday School Class

Our elementary aged children’s Sunday School class meets during our 10 a.m. worship service. Children leave for their class following the “Children’s Sermon” during worship. We offer a “one room” Sunday school for our elementary aged children. Our children enjoy stories, crafts and fun, while learning to follow Jesus. Sunday School Class will resume soon.

Children’s Drama Team

Bardsdale UMC provides many opportunities for children of all ages to participate in numerous drama skits throughout the year. Skits embody themes of Pastor Bethany’s sermons, providing engaging experiences for parents and their kids. We hope the congregation may learn what God is saying through his word in addition to the dramatic arts.

Vacation Bible School

Our Vacation Bible School (VBS) provides themed activities that entertain children and offers children the chance to learn about God. It’s a great way to get children involved in church. VBS is typically one week-long during the summer months. Children attend from 9 a.m. until noon. VBS teachers are church staff as well as church members volunteering their time. Many of the church members helping out with VBS are parents, too!.
